Nurses and care workers
Care Worker Agreement
How Fox Care engages and pays nurses and care workers.
Version 1.0 · Effective 13 October 2026 · Fox Care Pty Ltd
The short version
- You are a casual employee of Fox Care, free to accept or decline any shift.
- Pay is never below the applicable award, and is shown before you accept.
- Paid weekly for approved hours, whether or not the provider has paid us.
- Superannuation is paid into your fund; Fox Care holds your workers’ compensation cover.
- Keep your registrations and checks current so you keep being matched.
A summary to help you find your way. The full terms below are what apply.
1. Your engagement
You are engaged by Fox Care Pty Ltd as a casual employee, shift by shift. There is no guarantee of a minimum amount of work, and you are free to accept or decline any shift. Each shift you accept is a separate engagement, and you work it at the provider's site under the provider's reasonable directions.
Your pay and conditions are never less than the modern award that covers the work — for example the Nurses Award 2020 or the Aged Care Award 2010 — and the National Employment Standards.
2. Pay
For each shift you are paid the hourly rate for your role, plus where they apply:
- a casual loading, paid in place of paid leave;
- penalty rates for evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays;
- overtime when you work beyond the award's daily or weekly limits;
- allowances such as in-charge and on-call;
- a minimum engagement — if a shift is shorter than the minimum, you are paid the minimum.
What you will earn is shown before you accept a shift and is fixed for that shift. Superannuation is paid at the rate required by law into the fund you nominate. Tax is withheld as required.
You are paid on Fox Care's weekly pay run for hours approved by then, into the bank account in your details. You are paid for approved hours whether or not the provider has paid us.
3. Breaks
Meal breaks follow the award. An unpaid meal break is deducted only where it applies to the length of your shift; the breakdown of every shift shows exactly how the hours were counted.
4. Recording your shift and timesheets
You can record each stage of a shift in the app — on your way, arrived, started, breaks, finished — and that fills in your hours. Your location is recorded only when you tap “I’ve arrived” (see the Privacy Policy). You can always enter your hours by hand instead.
Send your hours as soon as a shift ends. They are paid once approved. If the provider disagrees, they may suggest different hours for you to accept, or Fox Care settles it after looking at both sides. Submitting hours you did not work is serious misconduct.
5. What we ask of you
- Keep your registration, checks and other documents current, and upload renewals before they expire.
- Attend the shifts you accept, on time and fit for work.
- Work within your scope of practice, and say so if you are asked to go beyond it.
- Follow the provider's policies and reasonable directions while on site.
- Follow the Code of Conduct and the Work Health and Safety Policy.
- Keep information about residents, patients and providers confidential, during and after your engagement.
6. Your entitlements
As a casual employee you are entitled to unpaid carer's leave, unpaid compassionate leave, paid family and domestic violence leave, community service leave and public holidays as the National Employment Standards provide. You may become eligible to change to permanent employment under the Fair Work Act's employee choice pathway; ask us if you would like to know where you stand.
7. Injury and insurance
As your employer, Fox Care holds workers' compensation insurance for you as the law requires. If you are hurt at work, tell the provider on site and Fox Care straight away — see the Work Health and Safety Policy.
8. Working directly for a provider
If a provider you met through Fox Care offers you work directly, please tell us. You are free to accept it; the provider's own obligations to Fox Care are set out in the Care Provider Agreement.
9. Ending the engagement
Either of us may end this agreement at any time. Shifts you have already accepted should still be worked, or cancelled under the Cancellation Policy. We may end it immediately for serious misconduct.
