Care workers and care providers
Work Health and Safety Policy
How Fox Care, providers and workers keep each other safe.
Version 1.0 · Effective 13 October 2026 · Fox Care Pty Ltd
The short version
- Fox Care and the provider share safety duties and must cooperate.
- Providers induct workers and supply the equipment needed to work safely.
- Stop any work you reasonably believe is unsafe, and report it.
- Never attend a shift with symptoms of an infectious illness — you won’t be penalised.
A summary to help you find your way. The full terms below are what apply.
1. Our commitment
Fox Care is committed to the health and safety of everyone who works through the platform, so far as is reasonably practicable, under the work health and safety laws of each state and territory we operate in. When a Fox Care worker attends a provider's site, both Fox Care and the provider have duties. Those duties overlap, cannot be contracted away, and require us to consult and cooperate.
2. Before a shift
Fox Care will verify credentials and immunisation status before approving a worker, place workers only in roles they are qualified for, and pass on safety information a provider gives us.
Providers will induct every worker before they start, including emergency procedures; tell workers about hazards specific to the placement, including residents with known behaviours of concern; and provide the equipment needed to work safely, including manual-handling aids and personal protective equipment.
3. During a shift
Workers must follow safe work procedures, use the equipment provided, and stop and report anything they reasonably believe is unsafe. No one is expected to continue work that puts them or anyone else at risk.
4. Incidents and injuries
Report any injury, near miss or incident immediately — to the provider on site and to Fox Care through Help in the app. A notifiable incident (a death, serious injury or illness, or dangerous incident) must be reported to the state regulator straight away and the site preserved; the provider, as the person in control of the workplace, makes that notification and Fox Care supports it.
Fox Care holds workers' compensation insurance for its workers and will help an injured worker make a claim.
5. Bullying, harassment and violence
Nobody should face violence, aggression, bullying or sexual harassment at work, including from residents, patients or families. Report it — it will be taken seriously, and reporting will never affect the shifts you are offered.
6. Infection control
Follow the provider's infection-control procedures. Do not attend a shift with symptoms of an infectious illness — tell us instead; you will not be penalised for the cancellation.
