A summary to help you find your way. The full terms below are what apply.
Why it exists
Fox Care works in aged care, disability and health settings. The people at the end of every shift are often frail, unwell or vulnerable. This code exists for them.
Everyone
- Treat residents, patients, families and colleagues with dignity and respect.
- Never discriminate on the basis of race, sex, gender identity, sexuality, disability, age, religion or background.
- Do not harass, bully or intimidate anyone.
- Keep personal and health information confidential — never discuss it outside the care team or on social media.
- Report anything unsafe, and any suspicion of abuse or neglect, immediately.
Care workers
- Attend fit for work — never affected by alcohol or drugs.
- Work within your scope of practice, and say so if asked to go beyond it.
- Follow the provider's policies while on their site.
- Do not accept gifts or money from residents, patients or their families.
- Do not form personal or financial relationships with people in your care.
- Use only your own account and credentials; never let anyone work under your name.
Care providers
- Provide a safe workplace and a proper induction.
- Do not ask a worker to work beyond their scope or without appropriate supervision.
- Choose who to offer shifts to fairly and without discrimination.
- Approve accurate hours promptly so people are paid on time.
Reporting and consequences
Report concerns through Help in the app or to hello@foxcare.com.au. Abuse, neglect or a risk to someone's safety must be reported immediately and may also need to be reported to a regulator such as the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Fox Care meets its own reporting obligations, including under the Serious Incident Response Scheme.
Breaches may lead to suspension or closure of an account and, where the law requires, referral to a regulator or the police.
